ORDERING

How far in advance do I need to book desserts for my wedding?

Typically couples inquire about desserts between 6-12 months before their wedding, then the couple will typically secure their deposit between 3-6 months before their wedding.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. For weddings, we require a $300 non-refundable deposit to secure your date, which will be applied towards your final balance. For other events such as birthdays, bridal showers, etc we require full payment upon booking to secure your date.

How do I know if you're available on my wedding date?

We're probably available! We double, triple, and quadruple book events all the time. But if you want to make sure, just send us a message.

How many dessert buffet items should I order for my event?

We always recommend 2-3 desserts per person. So if you're hosting 100 people, then anywhere from 16-25 dozen will be the sweet spot.

I don't like fondant, can you make the same design with just buttercream?

Yes, but no. If your inspiration photo is fondant, we can likely recreate it with buttercream, but it won't be 100% the same. Also for weddings, most of the time the outer layer of fondant is removed from the cake when cutting the slices, so it's usually only there for the asthetic.

Do you provide the flowers for my wedding cake?

No, typically you need to notify your florist to set aside extra flowers for us to use on your cake. This ensures that the flowers are a 100% match with the rest of your flowers. Unless you'd like edible sugar flowers.

If I order a wedding cake, do you provide the cake stand?

No we don't provide the cake stand, but we do offer cake stands that you may purchase to keep.

HELP! I need a cake by tomorrow!

We're here to help! We offer "Rush Cakes," but there are 2 stipulations: - You must place the order before 3pm PST. - The time of delivery must be after 1pm PST.

Where does Buttrcream Cakes service?

We cater to nearly all of Southern California! As far north as Santa Barbara, as far east as Palm Springs/Temecula, and as far south as San Diego.

Do you deliver?

Yes! Delivery is mandatory for all cake and dessert buffet orders. We also offer set up and rentals of our platters and cake stands, and we also break down the station at the end of the night.

How much is delivery?

In Los Angeles County, delivery is $50. If you'd like delivery plus set up and rentals of our platters, then it's $200. Outside of Los Angeles County, delivery fee is $2.00/mile roundtrip based on distance from our location.

Can I pick up my cake?

At this time we don't offer pickup, we only offer delivery.

Do you bake from scratch?

100% yes! Everything we make is made in-house, which we take great pride in!

Do you offer refunds?

No, all custom sales are final. Non-refundable deposits also cannot be refunded.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes, we do! We can accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free orders by request.

Do you have a store-front?

No, we don't have a store-front. We operate out of a catering kitchen in Valencia, CA. We also have an office in Westlake Village where we host our in-person cake tastings.

Can I taste your cake?

Yes! The best way to taste our cakes is to order a Shipped Cake Tasting, which includes all 8 of our most popular flavors. We can ship this directly to your house so you can taste at your convenience.
